Release date: July 17, 2026

ISO size: 4.2 GB

Kumander Linux 3.0 "Goldfinch" Release Candidate 1 opens a new chapter for the distribution. This candidate moves the system onto a Debian 13 base and, more visibly, replaces the Software Center with an application store developed in house and built around rendering speed, so browsing and installing software finally feels instant. It also brings the first two development tools of our own: Git Desktop and Code Editor, two applications aimed at the growing number of users who write code on Kumander Linux every day. Around them, a refreshed set of themes, a renewed login screen and a more informative file manager complete a build that is meant to be tested hard: this is the first public look at the 3.0 series, and the feedback gathered here will shape the road to the stable release.

WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION KUMANDER LINUX 3.0 RC1

  • Added Git Desktop, a multiplatform Git client developed in house, with support for multiple providers and smart identities.
  • Added Code Editor, a lightweight code editor developed in house, with an integrated terminal and built-in artificial intelligence.
  • Added new system themes.
  • Updated the theme of the login screen.
  • Fixed the issue that prevented the password field from being focused when switching users on the login screen.
  • Improved the Thunar file manager to display the available storage bar.
